I found THREEBRUNCH Nut Butter at MAAD art market on 5th August 2016. The art market hosts a range of handmade items and this Nut Butter was handmade by the lady at the booth.
I got to try all three Flavours at the booth – almond butter, cashew butter, macadamia butter. I liked the almond butter the most so it’s what I bought.
I have to say I’m not a fan of skippy peanut butter because I don’t like the strong peanut smell. Nor do I like almond paste because of the strong almond smell (but I like to eat almond nuts). But when I first tried this at the booth, I didn’t realise it was similar to peanut butter because it has no smell AT ALL. Not even the almond smell. I LOVE IT. I never expected myself to like peanut butter, seriously.
The other two don’t have strong peanut smell too but there is a slight difference. This Nut Butter is not totally smooth like the skippy’s where you don’t see any crunch. For the Almond Butter, I don’t actually taste any crunch. The almond nut is blended till it’s quite fine. The other two tasted slightly different like it’s rougher. Actually, it’s based on personal preference because they are more or less the same for me.
The sweetness of the Nut Butter is just right. Less sweet than Nutella or other chocolate sauce.
I was told that the Nut Butter can be used for various purposes, like used to spread on bread (what I did) or used to make into biscuits etc. At the event, I was offered a free biscuits made from the Nut Butter when I follow their Instagram account. The biscuit was also made on the same day (5th Aug) by the same lady. It was really yummy!
In less than a week from then, my family and I have already finished that small bottle of Nut Butter. Though it costs more than $10 for a small bottle, I think it’s quite worth it since it’s delicious and homemade (thus less preservatives – Nut Butter can only be kept for 3 months from date of mfg).
I’m not sure if they will appear at MAAD again but they have a website for you to buy their Nut Butter! www.threebrunch.com
